A Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 cost $399 when it reached stores in January 2020. In October 2026, a used one had a target of $283, about 71% of its launch price after six seasons and two newer lines. A TaylorMade SIM driver from that same winter, $549.99 new, was down to $234. Almost no other club in the bag holds its price like a Cameron.
The short answer
In October 2026, a used retail Scotty Cameron was worth about $280 to $460, and the line and its age set most of that. The 2020 Special Select and the Phantom X sit at the bottom, the 2025 Studio Style in the middle, and the OC putters and the 9R and 9.2R Phantoms at the top. Tour putters stamped with a Circle T are a different market, priced one putter at a time. Check the exact model before you buy.

How Cameron’s lines fit together
Strip away the names and there are two families: blades and mid-mallets that descend from the Newport, and mallets. Cameron’s own archive gives the dates.
Blades: Studio Style to Studio Style
- Studio Style (2005–07), the original, with a German Stainless Steel (GSS) inlay in a stainless head.
- Studio Select (2008–11) replaced it, with the Newport, Newport 2, Fastback and Squareback shapes that still anchor the range.
- Select (2012–19) ran longest, and Cameron refreshed it several times. The 2016 version was $410 and reached shops on April 8, 2016; the next arrived March 30, 2018.
- Special Select (2020–22): $399, in North American shops January 24, 2020, in eight models from the Newport to the Flowback 5.5.
- Super Select (2023–24): $449. The Newport models arrived March 17, 2023; the Fastback 1.5, Del Mar and GOLO 6 followed on May 19.
- Studio Style (2025 on): $499, twelve models in shops March 14, 2025, timed for the original line’s 20th anniversary. The Santa Fe and Fastback 2 joined on February 12, 2026.
Mallets: Futura to Phantom
The Phantom X replaced the Futura family. Nine mallets reached shops on April 12, 2019 at $429, and Cameron refreshed the range in 2021 and again in 2022, keeping the price. In 2024 Cameron dropped the X: the Phantom arrived March 29 at $449. Cameron announced the current Phantoms on January 20, 2026, and they reached shops February 27 in nine heads from $499, each with a full-face Studio Carbon Steel insert.
The newest idea is OC, for “Onset Center”. The shaft sits behind the leading edge and in line with the head’s center of gravity, a design Cameron calls low torque. The first two, the Phantom 11R OC and the Studio Style Fastback OC, arrived November 14, 2025 at $549.
Newport and Newport 2
The shape is older than the Titleist partnership. Cameron’s Classic 1 of 1993 won four PGA Tour events, the Masters among them, and became the Titleist Newport after Cameron Golf International and Acushnet became partners in September 1994. The Newport 2 first appears in Cameron’s 1997 Classics. Tiger Woods began using a Newport 2 GSS in 1999 and won 14 of his 15 majors with it. Every blade line in the list above has had one, which is a large part of why an old Newport 2 still looks current.
Why Scotty Camerons hold their value
A driver loses half its value in a few years. In October 2026, each Cameron line had kept this share of its launch price, set against two big-brand drivers of similar age:
| Club | Launch | Used, October 2026 | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Select Newport 2 (2020) | $399 | $283 | 71% |
| Phantom X 5.5 (2019–22) | $429 | $281 | 66% |
| Super Select Newport 2.5 Plus (2023) | $449 | $307 | 68% |
| Phantom 5 (2024) | $449 | $347 | 77% |
| Studio Style Newport 2 (2025) | $499 | $376 | 75% |
| TaylorMade SIM driver (2020) | $549.99 | $234 | 43% |
| TaylorMade SIM2 driver (2021) | $529.99 | $270 | 51% |
The shapes don’t date. Every year or two, the big brands launch a driver measurably faster than the last. A Newport 2 from 2020 rolls the ball much like one from 2025, and most buyers know it.
Cameron keeps supply tight. Limited runs cost far more than the standard line: $650 for the 2022 Special Select Jet Set, $750 for the 2025 Phantom Black, $850 for the 2025 Studio Xperimental. Club Cameron, the membership that gets first access to them, was full for 2026. Tour putters come out a few at a time, mostly through the Gallery.
Cameron services old putters. The Custom Shop in San Marcos, California restores and refinishes them, including putters from lines Cameron no longer makes.
The curve has one steep step. Each blade line since 2020 has launched $50 above the last, and when it arrives the previous one drops toward the line before it. After that it barely moves: the 2020 Special Select and 2023 Super Select were about $25 apart.
Which used Scotty Cameron is the best value?
Our pick for most golfers is a Special Select Newport 2, at $288 used. It’s the classic shape at the bottom of the Cameron curve, and it has already done nearly all its falling. The Del Mar from the same line is worth $280.
If you prefer a mallet, a Phantom X 5.5 is worth $289 used, and a 7.5 $281; in October 2026 both were within a few dollars of the Special Select. A 2024 Phantom 5 is worth $310. That was a dollar less than a 2026 Phantom 5.5 when we checked ($347 against $348), for a different head two years newer.
A used Studio Style makes sense if you want the newest blade: in October 2026, the Newport 2, Fastback and Catalina had targets of $367 to $396, a saving of $100 to $130 on the $499 new price.
The ones we’d skip used are the dearest heads of 2025 and 2026: the 9R, the 9.2R and the OC models. They had targets of $430 to $460 in October 2026, while a new one cost $549, so the used saving was $90 to $120. The 2026 Phantom 5.5 was the opposite case: $348 used, about $200 under new.
What to check before you buy
The headcover. A Cameron comes with its own cover, and buyers expect to see it. On a retail putter a missing one costs a little. On a tour putter it costs a lot, because Cameron’s Custom Shop can’t replace an original Circle T cover; the most it will do is make a new one to match the putter.
Paint fill and sight dots. Faded paint fill is cosmetic, and Cameron’s Custom Shop redoes it ($80 when we checked). Paint, dots or lines someone else added are another matter. Cameron won’t work on a putter with aftermarket paint fill, stamping, finish, shaft or weights, or with sight dots and alignment lines it didn’t come with, until its own shop redoes that work, and the next buyer pays for it.
Stamps it never had. Cameron won’t add bumper stamps such as TOUR or PROTO, or markings like 350G, GSS or JAT, to a putter that didn’t come with them. If a retail putter carries a stamp its model never had, someone else put it there, and it’s worth less than a clean one.
The seller’s location. Cameron says it makes its putters in the US, that a putter shipping from China or Hong Kong is probably counterfeit, and that it doesn’t sell seconds or blems, so there is no such thing as a “factory second” Cameron.
Proof, on an expensive one. Cameron authenticates putters through its Custom Shop, $95 when we checked in October 2026. You have to ship the putter in; the shop takes no drop-offs. You can search its public Authentication Registry by certificate number, but a putter appears there only if its owner asked.
Length and grip. Most putters are 33 to 35 inches. Buy one close to what you play now. A worn grip is a cheap fix; a putter two inches too long is a refit.
Don’t buy a beaten-up modern Cameron to restore it. Cameron charged $325 to restore a Special Select Newport 2 in October 2026, $450 for an insert putter, with a turnaround of about 120 days. Add that to a cheap Newport 2 and you’ve paid more than a new Studio Style, so save restoration for a putter you love or one worth more than the bill.
Circle T and tour putters
In Cameron’s own glossary, a Circle T marks a putter made for Tour. Cameron builds them for tour players, and they are the collector end of the market.
There is a legitimate way to buy one new: Cameron sells a limited number through its Galleries in Encinitas, California, open since July 9, 2014, and in Hamamatsu, Japan, and on the Gallery website, where it releases a few tour putters each Wednesday. Demand runs so far ahead of supply that Cameron has tried random drawings for them.
That makes provenance the whole value. Before paying Circle T money, ask where the putter came from: a Gallery purchase, a known tour source, or a Cameron certificate. Check the original headcover is there, since nobody can replace it. Check too that nobody added anything afterward, because fakes carry a “Circle T” stamp as well. We don’t set a target for tour putters, since each one is close to unique and its value rests on its paperwork.
You can see the next step down coming. The Studio Style is Cameron’s newest blade line, and buyers still pay a premium for that newness: about $70 over a Super Select when we checked in October 2026. Expect most of that gap to close when its successor arrives, the way it did between the Special Select and the Super Select. If you want a Studio Style, that launch is the time to buy one.
Questions
How much is a used Scotty Cameron putter worth?
In October 2026, most retail Scotty Camerons were worth $280 to $460 used, depending on the line and model year. A 2020 Special Select or a Phantom X sits near $280, a 2025 Studio Style near $380, and the OC models and dearest 2026 Phantoms around $450. Check the exact model on ClubChecks for its current target.
Do Scotty Cameron putters hold their value?
Better than almost any club. In October 2026 a 2020 Special Select Newport 2 had kept about 71% of its $399 launch price, while a TaylorMade SIM driver from the same year had kept about 43%.
What is the difference between Special Select, Super Select and Studio Style?
They are successive generations of Cameron’s blade and mid-mallet line: Special Select (2020, $399), Super Select (2023, $449) and Studio Style (2025, $499). Each has its own Newport, Newport 2 and related shapes.
What does Circle T mean on a Scotty Cameron?
That the putter was made for tour use. Cameron sells a limited number through its Galleries in Encinitas, California and Hamamatsu, Japan, and on its Gallery website. Their value depends on provenance, so ask for proof of where it came from and make sure the original headcover comes with it.
How can I tell if a Scotty Cameron putter is fake?
Be wary of one shipping from China or Hong Kong, which Cameron says is probably counterfeit, and of any “second” or “blem”, which Cameron doesn’t sell. Look for added stamps and non-original paint fill or sight dots. For an expensive putter, Cameron’s Custom Shop will authenticate it for a fee if you ship it in.
What does OC mean on a Scotty Cameron?
Onset Center: the shaft sits behind the leading edge and in line with the head’s center of gravity, which Cameron calls a low-torque design. The first OC putters, the Phantom 11R OC and Studio Style Fastback OC, reached shops on November 14, 2025 at $549.
Which used Scotty Cameron is the best value?
For most golfers, a 2020 Special Select Newport 2 or Del Mar: the classic shapes, at the bottom of Cameron’s price curve. Mallet players get the same value from a Phantom X 5.5 or 7.5.
